Trucks can be categorized by the combination of gross mass i.e. 3500Kg (7716 lb) are in light commercial vehicles and those are over in gross mass categorized as large vehicles. Word truck actually derived from “truckle” that meant “small wheel”, “pulley”. In 1611, cannon carriages of ships using small strong wheels actually brought up the usage of trucks. In 1771 the extended use of trucks refers carts for carrying heavy loads. Motor powered load carrier modernizes the use of truck since 1930 and shortened as motor truck.

But in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa the “truck” largely used for larger vehicles but a pickup truck in Australia and New Zealand normally called as Ute (utility), but it called as bakkie (Afrikaans “container”) in South Africa. According to the medium and heavy type, Indian, Malaysian, Irish, Singaporean U.K and Hong Kong used as lorry instead of “truck”.
