Cargo transportation use motor vehicle trucks that are actually designed to fulfill the need. Size, configuration and power of trucks are mechanically similar to an automobile. Trucks are well equipped, large and powerful and highly configured according to the usage. Generally these are in the case of fire trucks, suction excavator, and concrete mixers. Gasoline and diesel engines truck modernized the class of truck, with diesel dominant in commercial application.

But in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa the “truck” largely used for larger vehicles but a pickup truck in Australia and New Zealand normally called as Ute (utility), but it called as bakkie (Afrikaans “container”) in South Africa. According to the medium and heavy type, Indian, Malaysian, Irish, Singaporean U.K and Hong Kong used as lorry instead of “truck”.
